Winter is coming. Festival season is over, and the cold weather is rolling in. Thankfully, there’s one great way to stay warm in the winter: dancing. And Detroit has plenty of that to go around. With amazing shows at venues all around the greater Detroit area, you’ll be able to sweat off the frostbite all month. Check out our top five picks for the month below.

Mija – December 4 @ The Grasshopper Underground

Mija is a rising star in the electronic music scene, and it’s because of her live shows. With very few releases under her belt, the reason people flock to her shows is for her incredible energy behind the boards. Mija just wrapped up a huge tour of Asia opening for Skrillex, and is taking her talent across the country in a headlining role. Check her out at the intimate Grasshopper Underground while you can, because next time she comes through she’ll be playing much larger venues. Tickets are almost gone, get them while you still can here.

Anna Lunoe – December 5 @ Populux

While Mija is in the growing pool of young talented female DJ’s, Anna Lunoe has been doing this for a while, and doing it well. With a handful of singles and her own show on Beats 1, Lunoe has become a fixture in the electronic music community. Her set at the fantastic venue Populux won’t be one to miss. Grab tickets here.

Snails – December 10 @ Necto (Ann Arbor)

Snails throws down some of the dirtiest sets out there, and it’s fun as hell. Make fun of dubstep all you want, but as soon as you step foot inside Necto in Ann Arbor, you’ll be raging so hard you’ll forget winter ever existed. Tickets are available here.

Grizmas – December 19 @ Masonic Temple

Only in its second year, Griz’s annual holiday celebration has already become one of the most anticipated events of the year. FKJ, Big Wild, and Will Sessions will all be joining Griz this year at the beautiful Masonic Temple. Tickets have already sold out for the main event, but you can still snag tickets to the afterparty here.

Get Real – December 30 @ The Russell Industrial Center

Get Real is a duo comprised of house legends Claude VonStroke and Green Velvet. They’ll be throwing down an incredible set at the spacious Russell Industrial Center, and bringing along Shiba San and Will Clarke. It’s going to be a full night of deep house and nonstop dancing, and a perfect warmup for New Year’s Eve. Tickets are available here.
