On the last weekend in October, deep in the sleepy town of Live Oak, Florida, the magic of Hulaween will finally awaken.
It’s finally almost time for one of the most anticipated festivals of the year. Everyone that has been to Hulaween since its first year back in 2013 can attest to the enchantment that emanates from this special place. They call it the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park for a reason. You can feel its warming embrace the minute you step into the grounds, and it never lets you go.
Hulaween is a place of celebration. It’s a magical place where we celebrate life, love, connection, friendship, self-expression, music, art, and movement. Explore the whimsical and interactive art installations, murals, and live painting in Spirit Lake (Can we talk about the late-night light shows hovering over the misty fog, projected on the beautiful Cypress Trees drenched in Spanish moss?). Dance the day away at the Suwannee River “Beach” dance parties. There is never a dull moment at Hulaween, especially with this year’s theme, Creatures of the Galaxy.
Each year Hulaween makes it better than the last, and attendees increase as a result, with this years event selling out weeks before its date. As those who slept on tickets scramble to find a way in, it’s time for those with tickets to make other important decisions. The schedule was released last week, and many are torn between the numerous scheduling conflicts. Tipper or Vulfpec? Clozee or Jamiroquai? It’s no joke that this year’s lineup left everyone shook the moment it came out.
Hulaween is known for its diversity, and for having the best of everything when it comes to music. People of all walks of life are guaranteed to have their musical needs met. From four hours of Dirtybird house music in Spirit Lake, to mind-boggling bass music like Tipper, Rezz, Jade Cicada, and Bleep Bloop, everyone is guaranteed a good time. Who’s ready for some serious feels during Odesza? Jamiroqui might be the most anticipated act, as they finally began touring this year, and will be uniting jam heads and electronic fans alike. Personally we are stoked for Clozee’s performance, hot off one of the most beautiful albums released this year, and perfect for Hulaween’s vibes. No matter your music taste, the anticipation is real y’all, and the countdown is on.
Suwannee Hulaween takes place October 26-28 at Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak Florida!
